President Stu Goodgold announced that the Monterey Tournament had been a big success with a record 2574 tables in play.

Players like the pre-dealt boards which save 15 to 20 minutes at the start of play.

The decision to purchase the Bridge Mate or Bridge Pads is being delayed until ACBL makes a final decision on what they will use.

Ray Yuenger is the new Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee.

Treasurer Harvey Brody announced that there was a net gain of about $58,000 in 2008 including $33,000 from operations and $25,000 in returned profits from the Fall 07 SFNABC.

All ad revenue from the Forum should go directly to Harvey at 400 Warren Dr. #11 SF 94131. Ads are billed at $90 per quarter page ad per month.

Treasurers’ Reports will be sent out with the Board mailings in the future.

Tournament Manager Jackie Matthews said the Presidents’ Day Regional is going well with attendance up 20%.

National Director Bruce Blakely is introducing a motion at the Houston NABC to allow Sectionals to run Compact KO’s. He is also addressing using average number of MP’s instead of basing teams on the highest number of one player’s MP’s for team events.

Western Conference is responsible for the Forum, STAC weeks which are attracting record numbers, and coordinating Regionals for District 17, 21 and 22.

Marion Robertson from San Francisco is the new President of Western Conference.

D21 Officers for 2009 are President Stu Goodgold, Vice-President Bill Corliss, Secretary Cindy Kirk and Treasurer Harvey Brody.

Jeff Hack urged all Units to submit their nominations to him for their favorite charity by July 4, 2009.  jnamyats@aol.com

D21 is applying for “tax-exempt” Group Exemption status so that all unincorporated Units can have their Federal tax returns submitted by the D21 Treasurer. Each Unit must have an EIN number which should be submitted to Harvey Brody (hbrody@comcast.net) and Cindy Kirk (cindykirk@sbcglobal.net) Call 1-877-829-5500 to request an EIN number. Unit should know their founding date (ACBL has this information) as they may be asked this question.

Bill Corliss was elected as 2nd Alternate to the National Director.

Editorial changes were approved for the D21 By Laws which generally updated the By Laws by eliminating outdated references and practices.
